We help refugees in Ukraine
There are currently two houses for refugees in Ukraine: one, run by Jesuits, is in Khmelnitsky, and another one, run by JRS, is in Lviv.
We welcome refugees in Poland
In Poland, our priority is to help provide adequate living conditions for refugees. At the beginning of April there were 118 refugees living in Jesuits’ houses and parish buildings. Moreover, many parishioners have welcomed refugees. As a team we aim to support these efforts so that refugees receive comprehensive support.
We help to deliver humanitarian aid from other countries
We often play a role of intermediary: many organizations from the west contact with us. They want to help Ukraine but need a little support from our side. Thanks to their involvement, special transports are organized and many refugees can find a new home in France, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and other European countries. Other organizations, in turn, send to us their transports with humanitarian aid, either we deliver them to Ukraine, or we help them to find a place where the aid is needed.
The team “Jesuits for Ukraine” was established by the superiors of the Polish provinces of the Society of Jesus in the first days after the Russian aggression against Ukraine
Its aim is to support Jesuit works in Ukraine and to coordinate aid activities for refugees in both Polish provinces.
